C/CSM Thoren Berg ’25 has been selected by the Association of Military Colleges & Schools of the United States (AMCSUS) as the recipient of the Leadership Award and a $1,000 scholarship. A combination of his character and service alongside his academic and athletic performances led to this honor.

Thanks to the generous $2,000,000 continuing grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ will help to remove the financial barriers often limiting academic opportunities for highly qualified undergraduates interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

While on campus, he was honored by conducting a ceremonial puck drop during the men’s hockey intrastate rivalry game between the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Cadets and visiting Vermont State University – Castleton Spartans.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is proud to announce a significant update to its renowned degree program in the Leahy School of Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing. The University has rebranded its Computer Security and Information Assurance (CSIA) degree to Cybersecurity and Advanced Technology (CSAT) to better reflect the evolving landscape of modern technology and to align with current industry standards.

It was an outstanding evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, with two exceptional faculty members, Dr. Tara Kulkarni, Associate Provost for Research and Chief Research Officer, and Dr. Sarah Gallant, Assistant Professor and Interim Chair of Chemistry and Biochemistry, named finalists, and one attaining the highest honor.

Through a competitive selection process, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) has appointed Bill Lyons to oversee and facilitate cybersecurity, diplomacy, and strategic studies programs and Dr. Robin Saunders as the Cybersecurity and Information Systems Academic Director.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ will observe Veterans Day by conducting a Corps of Cadets review in honor of all veterans, past and present. The reviewing officer and guest speaker will be U.S. Army Brigadier General Matt Braman, Director, Army Aviation for Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) G-3/5/7, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Class of 1995.

Benjamin Stark, one of the most storied swimmers in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ swimming & diving history, became the first student-athlete in school history to be named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athlete of the Year for Men's Sports.
