Shapiro Field House spans 50,000 square feet and features a 200-meter indoor running track, four tennis courts and a climbing wall. It is home to the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ tennis team. The multipurpose building opened in 1987 and is used by all spring athletic teams for early season practices and as a venue for Commencement, concerts, and other university functions. The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Corps of Cadets and ROTC conduct physical training in Shapiro.

Faculty, staff, and students will gather together at 13:30 hrs. to formally convene the new academic year.
Afternoon classes and extra-curricular events are suspended on this day to allow for full community participation. Student scholarship will be recognized with academic awards and a formal ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students. Faculty are invited to walk in the processional in full regalia and all staff are invited to attend.
